So, want to know a bit about me?

My top five achievements are...

1. Being part of Emap’s Design Dream Team and Design Executive Board.
I was selected to be a member of Emap’s Design Dream Team, which consisted of just ten designers. Its aim was to raise the design standards of Emap Active’s magazines, and I was a member of the team for two consecutive years. Being part of the team developed and broadened my design skills and experience. I attended conferences and design meetings. I also gained work experience on a variety of different magazines. Further to my inclusion on the Design Dream Team I was promoted from that and selected to become part of the Design Executive Board, which had eight members. The board met every month and was committed to inspire and provide opportunities for all the designers within Emap Active, especially the Design Dream Team. The Board organised and provided tailored design training through workshops, as well as an annual design conference.

2. Working as a Lecturer at Peterborough Regional College.
I worked as an evening lecturer teaching desktop publishing to a class of 8 to 10 adults once a week. I designed and delivered the course single-handedly. 3. Working voluntarily at Peterborough Soup Kitchen. I worked at the Peterborough Soup Kitchen for two years. Once a month, along with my three team-mates, we would make the food and then hand it out to the people on the streets of the city. It was a very demanding job, but very rewarding.

4. Selection for the Great Britain Under-21 Shooting Team.
Being part of the Great Britain Under-21 Shooting Team was a fantastic experience, during which I travelled the country taking part in various competitions. The highlight was going to Canada for six weeks, touring the south-east. I took part in major competitions and learnt how to coach less-experienced marksmen.

5. Acting in a play!
I have a keen interest in the theatre and joined an amateur theatre group, initially because of my interest in the production side. But it wasn’t long before I attended an audition and got a part in the play. Getting on stage was one of the most terrifying things I have done to date!
